Tom Donovan
Tom is a founding partner of Donovan Billington Barbosa Realty Group. Throughout his 25-year career Tom has been involved in practically every aspect of real estate. From site acquisition, marketing, sales and leasing Tom has provided guidance to large and small clients alike. A real estate broker in NY and NJ, Tom enjoys expertise in both markets. His extensive client lists ranges from first time homebuyer and mid-sized developer to publicly traded REITs. His years spent managing construction and marketing teams has earned him the respect of builders and brokers alike. “I am committed to team building and believe maximum success is only possible when every member of the team is excited, engaged and committed.”
Understanding the evolving market and advising clients appropriately has been a key to his success. Drawing on years of experience working as part of a development team for Spectrum Communities, and later as Regional Director of Sales for Tarragon Communities, Tom has a reputation for knowledge, honesty and results. “I love what I do and I’m lucky to be doing it.”
A graduate cum laude of SUNY Albany, Tom holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in economics. Working for IBM out of college and later for an international business group. Tom realized the value of combining good business with a global perspective. This has proven invaluable in understanding both the local as well as the global dynamics involved in today’s Real Estate industry.
For over 10 years Tom and his wife Carey have owned and operated Donovan Realty and Development, LLC. A company, which specializes in neighborhood building by renovating multi-family housing in challenged communities. Some of their other projects have included the restoration of several historical properties. “We both feel this provides us with a sense of perspective and grounding”, admits Tom’s realtor wife and partner Carey. He is an active volunteer with his local community and his family has enjoyed hosting international exchange students. |
